From Lanner to Hutton you were always there,
Helping us through hard times with comfort and care,
When light turned to darkness, when no one came near,
You were the one that extinguished my fear.
When truths were cloaked behind veils of shame,
It was you whom I turned to in search of the same,
Carrying what passed has since been my curse,
Not 'knowing' my parents might have been worse?
Since then I've been faced with 'confront or forget',
Neither of which I have managed as yet,
Oh, where are you now in this time of great need,
To counsel me in deciding which is the right deed?
